From Genolier we walk up to Arzier, passing through the medieval ruins of Oujon where we visit the remains of the monastery of Notre-Dame d’Oujon. Founded in 1146, it was the first Swiss Carthusian monastery. It was suppressed after 400 years in 1537 during the Reformation. We continue to St-Cergue, where we will have a fondue at a cafe terrace.

Walking time & difficulty: about 3 hours; elevation gain 600 m, loss 100 m; alt. max. 1125, distance 12.4 km, no special difficulties.
Fondue option: 15:30

St-Cergue dep. 17:00; Geneva arr. 18:00 (there is a train every hour)

Equipment: Good hiking shoes, rain gear, sunscreen, warm clothes, poles and crampons (optional),
Please bring at least 2 liters of water and a picnic for those not having a fondue.
We may not accept your participation if you are not appropriately equipped (hiking boots and outerwear) for this outing
